About Shoshana
Shoshana Weissmann oversees R Street’s social media, email marketing, website, and other digital assets. As a fellow, she also works on occupational licensing reform, social media regulatory policy, age-verification policy, Section 230, child identity theft, and other issues.
Some of her notable work includes her policy series, “The Fundamental Problems with Social Media Age-Verification Legislation,” a searchable database of past Supreme Court confirmation hearing transcripts, and a solutions-based explanation of how certain government processes could be modified to prevent child identity theft. Her work in technology policy sometimes references her own experiences as a child online and how she used social media as a teenager to grow her career and seek out medical treatment.
Before joining R Street, Shoshana managed digital communications for Opportunity Lives, a group that highlighted positive stories and policy solutions. Prior to that, she managed social media and wrote for The Weekly Standard and managed digital communications for the America Rising PAC, where her strategy was highlighted in a piece that appeared in The New York Times.
She is on the boards of The Conservation Coalition, Young Voices, and Responsive Law. Shoshana is also a member of the Federalist Society’s Regulatory Transparency Project’s state and local and emerging technology working groups.
She lives in Washington, D.C., and enjoys the Snapchat hot dog.
