Overview

In recognition of Data Privacy Day 2024, join the R Street Institute for its third annual privacy outlook event exploring the status of data privacy and security legislation and regulation in the United States and the path forward. Between action on a comprehensive data privacy and security bill last Congress and the explosion of artificial intelligence (AI), data privacy remains a critical and timely policy area. However, the United States is still without a comprehensive data privacy and security law, while states continue to act on their own forms of legislation.

We invite you to attend the formal program followed by a reception. The event will feature a panel of experts representing diverse viewpoints in the data privacy and security field. We will reflect on privacy action in 2023, the nexus between privacy and AI, children’s privacy legislation and regulation, the status of a federal comprehensive data privacy and security law, and potential next steps.
