About Christian
Christian R. Cámara is a co-founder of the R Street Institute and focused on insurance, occupational licensing reform and criminal justice modernization efforts in Florida.
In recent years, Christian worked extensively to promote proposals that would reform Florida’s personal injury protection auto insurance system, shrink the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund and reduce the size of Florida’s Citizens Property Insurance Corp. Earlier in his career, he was Florida director of the Heartland Institute’s Center on Finance, Insurance and Real Estate. He also worked in the Florida House of Representatives as a legislative analyst for the Committee on State Affairs and as a legislative aide to the chairman of the Pre-K through 12th Grade Policy Committee.
Christian earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from Florida International University.
